Types of Butt Welded Fittings
We supply a comprehensive range of butt welded fitting configurations to suit specialized industrial pipeline requirements.
45° & 90° Pipe Elbows
Installed between two lengths of pipe or tubing to allow a change of direction, usually a 90° or 45° angle. Available in Long Radius (LR) and Short Radius (SR).
- Long Radius (LR): Radius is 1.5 times the pipe diameter
- Short Radius (SR): Radius is 1.0 times the pipe diameter
- Usage: Directional flow changes in constrained or unconstrained spaces
Equal & Reducing Tees
T-shaped pipe fittings with two outlets, at 90° to the connection to the main line. Used to combine or divide fluid flow.
- Equal Tee: Branch diameter is identical to the main pipe
- Reducing Tee: Branch diameter is smaller than the main pipe
- Usage: Fluid branching in continuous pipelines
Concentric & Eccentric Reducers
Used to connect pipes of different diameters, optimizing flow and adapting to varying equipment nozzle sizes.
- Concentric Reducer: Cone-shaped, maintains centerline axis (Vertical lines)
- Eccentric Reducer: Flat on one side, prevents air pooling (Horizontal lines)
- Usage: Flow transition, pressure adaptation, pump suction
Pipe Caps & Stub Ends
Caps are used to dead-end a piping system. Stub ends are used in conjunction with lap joint connections for easily dismantled pipeline assemblies.
- Caps: Hemispherical or semi-ellipsoidal closures
- Stub Ends: Short length of pipe with a flared end
- Usage: End-of-line sealing and rapid dismantling nodes
Types of Butt Weld Ends
We supply fittings with highly precise end preparations in accordance with ASME B16.25 standards.
Plain Bevel End
The standard end preparation for butt-welded joints. Typically machined to a 37.5-degree angle with a 1/16" root face, ideal for standard wall thicknesses.
Compound Bevel End
Utilized for very thick walls (typically over 22mm). Features two bevel angles to reduce the volume of weld metal required and prevent excessive heat distortion.
Plain End (PE)
A straight cut (90 degrees) used primarily for smaller diameter fittings, socket weld connections, or slip-on mating.
Threaded End (TE)
Prepared with NPT or BSPT threads for applications where welding is hazardous or the piping system requires regular disassembly.
Standard Dimensional Tolerances (ASME B16.9)
Our strict adherence to ASME B16.9 dimensional tolerances ensures perfect fitment and precise alignment during pipeline construction.
| Dimension | Fitting Size (NPS) | Tolerance (Inches) |
|---|---|---|
| Outside Diameter at Bevel | 1/2" to 2 1/2" | + 0.06" / - 0.03" |
| 3" to 48" | ± 0.06" | |
| Inside Diameter at End | 1/2" to 10" | ± 0.03" |
| 12" to 48" | ± 0.06" | |
| Wall Thickness | 1/2" to 18" | Not less than 87.5% of nominal thickness |
| 20" to 48" | Not less than 87.5% of nominal thickness | |
| Center-to-End (Elbows/Tees) | 1/2" to 8" | ± 0.06" |
| Overall Length (Reducers) | All Sizes | ± 0.06" |
